Do I need an AHC to take my dog to Europe?

For many non-commercial journeys from the United Kingdom to the EU, dogs, cats and ferrets require an Animal Health Certificate unless another valid travel-document route applies. We confirm your pet’s individual requirements before issuing the certificate.

How much does an AHC cost?

A standard Animal Health Certificate is £140. Urgent appointments are £180, subject to availability. Additional eligible pets are +£30 each.

How soon before travel should I book an AHC?

Contact us as early as possible. Your pet must already meet the relevant microchip and rabies vaccination requirements before the certificate can be issued.

What happens if I need an AHC urgently?

We offer an Urgent Animal Health Certificate service for £180, subject to veterinary availability and your pet already meeting the relevant travel requirements. An urgent appointment cannot shorten mandatory microchip or rabies vaccination waiting periods.

Can several pets travel on the same AHC?

Multiple eligible pets may be included on the same Animal Health Certificate where the current travel rules allow it. Each additional eligible pet is charged at +£30.

What is the difference between an AHC and EHC?

An AHC is typically used for qualifying non-commercial travel from the United Kingdom to the EU. An EHC is a destination-specific veterinary certificate used when the importing country requires one.

How early should I start preparing for Australia?

Ideally at least six months before travel, and often earlier. Australia has strict sequencing and timing requirements, so early planning is strongly recommended.

Can you guarantee entry to another country?

No veterinary practice can guarantee entry. Final entry is controlled by destination authorities, border officials and transport providers.

Do you organise flights and travel crates?

We specialise in the veterinary and certification side of pet export. We can work alongside your chosen pet transport or relocation company, but flights, travel crates and transport arrangements are provided separately.
